In October our Stomachs need the most attention from all organs. The Stomach digests foods and fluids, it also extracts the energy from them. Together with the Spleen it controls the transportation of the food essence to our bodies.
How to take care lovingly of our stomach?
Eating healthy foods (for example green vegetables, legumes, fermented foods, fruits, polenta, ginger, fennel, garlic....)
Before eating it is recommended to drink warm water with squeezed lemon and a few drops of apple cider vinegar to prepare the Stomach for digestion.
Eat calmly, while sitting, chew your food a lot to stimulate body juices, eat on schedule, don't eat late at night. Avoid cold drinks. Cold water disturbs the functioning of gastric juices and contracts blood vessels, simply said it is a shock for your Stomach.
Add spices such as ginger, turmeric, cumin and fennel seeds to your cooking. Eat only when you are hungry (avoid too much snacking). Keep yourself hydrated during the day - your Stomach likes wetness, not dryness. Dryness causes thirst that leads to a cracked tongue for example. Also dry Stomach can't move food to Small Intestine easily.

Pay attention to your Stomach Meridian that is active between 7 am - 9 am. The Stomach Meridian is one of the longest meridians in your body. The Stomach Meridian helps us to assimilate new ideas and information, to digest food, to digest life. You can learn about meridians from books or internet.
When you wake up in the morning, drink room temperature water with lemon and a few drops of apple cider vinegar, have ginger or cumin tea to start your day.
Stomach Meridian exercise - standing squats or crescent moon position in yoga
Stomach point ST 3 at the bottom of the cheekbone - massage or tap on it with your middle finger. This point on the cheek helps relieve stuffy nose, nasal congestion, tooth pain or even eyes irritation. Don't forget to breathe while tapping.
Foot reflexology - there is a stomach point under the ball of the foot (below the ball of the big toe). Gentle rub this area with your thumbs. It can relief a Stomach pain or Stomach flu (you can try on your children older than 2 years when they have a stomach flu).
In the Autumn we have to take care of our mouth too.
Mouth is connected to Stomach, especially the gums inside the mouth. The danger can be the heat in the Stomach. Excess Stomach heat can cause dry lips, can damage the blood vessels and it causes the bleeding from the gums or swollen gums. Stomach Meridian distributes energy and blood from the gums. Cold sores can also be a result of the increase of the heat in the Stomach. When a cold sore is developing at the beginning you can put an ice cube on that area to calm the heat down.
You can learn about the point ST-42 on your foot. Stimulating this point can clear heat from the Stomach.

Our Mouth is also connected to our Spleen (lips), Heart (the tongue), Kidneys (teeth). If we keep our organs happy, our mouth will be healthy.
Have a beautiful Autumn, pay loving attention to your Stomach including the Stomach Meridian and your Mouth!
